Remembering Pat Wertheim
I had the privilege of working with Pat for many years—first as a student, learning from his incredible contributions to the field of fingerprints, and then, unexpectedly, as his boss since 2016. Hiring and managing someone so deeply respected in the industry was quite an experience—admittedly a bit awkward at first! But that initial hesitation quickly faded, and we became the best of friends.
I had the honor of being his last boss, guiding him into his final retirement. Over the years, we shared both personal and professional struggles, always supporting one another. Our friendship extended far beyond work, filled with painting sessions, countless stories, and, of course, tales of glazing donuts (IYKYK).
Pat meant the world to me, and I loved him dearly. He was more than a mentor, a colleague, or a friend—he was family. I will never forget him and will always hold his memory close to my heart.
Rest easy, my dear friend. You are deeply missed. ❤️
