Always Remembered, Never to be Forgotten

It was about 35 years ago that Pat took me under his wing and mentored me in fingerprints. Initially he was my verifier on case work while I worked at the sheriff’s department, just down the road from where Pat worked for the Department of Public Safety. As years went by we became the best of friends, then colleagues on cases once we both retired from our respective agencies. I inherited his famous class of comparisons and expanded it with his encouragement, following closely in his footsteps more than I ever could have imagined. We even began calling each other “Pard” and “Pardette”. He often stayed in our guest house when visiting Tucson and I will always remember our long talks on the back patio sipping Scotch and watching the sunset. “Pard” became such a part of me and my life to ever be forgotten. I will always owe him so much.
