As an Australian working in the UK in the early 2000s I had the opportunity of presenting at the Fingerprint Society Lectures where I met with Pat. He, David Asbaugh and I were presenting regarding the shift in the UKs Fingerprint Standard. From memory I followed both Pat and David. A little daunting for an unknown such as myself. I recall having some wonderful conversation with them both at dinner. I moved back to Australia in 2004 to take up a position with the Sth Australia Police. Recently I caught up with Pat through messages via LinkedIn. It was great to catch-up, bringing back the memories of those earlier times. I was truly shocked when I got the news. I didn’t know his son however I knew him by reputation. Another shock. RIP to both of them and sincere condolences to their families.
